      ・江戸時代の宝永４年、この地域に大地震があり、梅田川でも水害がおこり、今の旧浜道の交差点あたりまで、津波がきたそうです。そして、多くの方が亡くなったので、その供養として建てられました。明治時代の、早田さん、岩瀬さん、長田さんらが建てたそうです。当初三十三体でしたが、東のおじぞうさんを一体持ってきて、今は、三十四体です。
      今もお参りやお世話をしてくれる方がいます。後世にも伝えていきたいものです。

      ・In the 4th year of the Hoei period during the Edo period, there was a major earthquake in this area, causing flooding in the Umeda River, and a tsunami reaching the current intersection of Old Hama-michi. Since many people died, it was built as a memorial for them. It is said to have been built by Mr. Hayata, Mr. Iwase, and Mr. Nagata during the Meiji period. Initially there were 33 statues, but now we have 34 statues since we brought in one of the old men from the east.
      There are still people who visit us and take care of us. This is something I want to pass on to future generations.

      東海、東南海、南海地震はおおよそ 100 年間隔で規則的に発生していることが知られている。これらの地震のうち、プレート境界地震で愛知県に影響を及ぼしたと考えられる江戸時代以前の津波は、以下の 6 地震である。
      (1)「白鳳地震」天武十三年十月十四日（684 年 11 月 29 日）
      (2)「嘉保地震」嘉保三年（永長元年）十一月二十四日（1096 年 12 月 17 日）
      (3)「明応地震」明応七年八月二十五日（1498 年 9 月 20 日）
      (4)「慶長地震」慶長九年十二月十六日（1605 年 2 月 3 日）
      (5)「宝永地震」宝永四年十月四日（1707 年 10 月 28 日）
      (6)「安政東海地震」嘉永七年（安政元年）十一月四日（1854 月 12 月 23 日）
      It is known that Tokai, Tonankai, and Nankai earthquakes occur regularly at approximately 100-year intervals. Among these earthquakes, the following six tsunamis are thought to have affected Aichi Prefecture due to plate boundary earthquakes before the Edo period.
      (1) “Hakuho Earthquake” October 14, 13th year of Tenmu (November 29, 684)
      (2) “Kaho Earthquake” November 24, Kaho 3 (Eicho 1) (December 17, 1096)
      (3) “Meio Earthquake” August 25, 1498 (September 20, 1498)
      (4) “Keicho Earthquake” December 16, Keicho 9 (February 3, 1605)
      (5) “Hoei Earthquake” October 4, 1707 (October 28, 1707)
      (6) “Ansei Tokai Earthquake” November 4, 1854 (December 23, 1854)
